Alternator Bracket Removal

3503 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  BIGBOY
I just replaced the alternator on my Legend and the hardest part was to remove one of the 3 - 12mm bolts that secure the alternator bracket to the engine. I finally got the last hard to get bolt out with a swivel headed box wrench. Doing a search it seems that this bolt being at an angle makes it almost impossible to get a socket on securely to remove. :yes:

:nono: Remind me not to buy one of your Legends. That's why it's a Legend;
it's over-engineered (but in a good way).

Same as above, but maybe twice.:)
Fella's it's called having the "right tool" for the job. I bought swivel joints for hard spots like that.

If you left two bolts out your asking for trouble!
