Nissan started in the 80's (early 80's I think). And as I recall there was a tenth anniversary edition Accord in 1993 that commemorated ten years of American built Hondas.

10years in 1993??? That makes it 1983? How come are Legends were built in Japan if I recall correctly, along with many other Hondas/Acuras.. While the newer AcuraTLs/CLs all seem to be built in the U.S.

I thought Lexus was also barely going to open up a plant in Canada?

I'm not sure when they started exactly, but I know at least from the late 80s Hondas were built in all 3 locations. Japan, Canada, and the US. The Japans ones VIN started with a J, US built Accords VINs started with 1HG, and Canada with 2HG. Also, I beieve ALL Accord Coupes of those years were either built in Canada, or the US. No Coupes were built in Japan. I'm sure they may have omported them there though.
