Mine used to make a 'Chuck' noise, turned out to be my A/C compressor as one of the pully wheels was loose and it was knocking against the others.
P.S. Hey MikeD, haven't spoken to you in a while, how have you been?
the exhaust manifold is what collects the exhaust from the engine and sends it back to the muffler etc. a Chuck sounds like gas excaping when you say it fast...if speed dependent could be...could be anywhere in the exhaust system...(remember the gas is under pressure to escape. Put on a lift and get under and listen to where it comes from and you may get a better answer.....it is so so hard to hear your car here in TN!
the more i accelerate the faster the sound gets, can't really hear it when i open the hood, but i hear it loud and clear if i put my head near my my front wheels, it's real loud in the morning, but after it's warmed up you can still hear it, but it's not as loud,
and thanks MikeD for making me not feel stupid
