weed is barely even considered a drug in cali. if you have less than an ounce, unseparated. they will usually just curb it and MAYBE write you a ticket.. IIRC its about 73 dollars.

over an ounce is intent to sell.. so you go from ticket. to felony just that quickly.. or if it is separated into more than one container.

of course i've also smoked with half of the cops that i know.. haha

 

I thought about doing something like that, but then it wouldn't work for me because of the rear window would still be tinted. Im not sure what the laws are like over there.

 

why do folks smoke in their Legends?

 

Well the rear windows can be tinted or even painted black, but the front windows need to be clear. The cops are just asshole and have nothing to do. They won't throw you in prison for having weed (depends on the baggie lol) If its a roach, they'll just throw it on the floor and step on it.

 

in hawaii its totally different... they get really mad with you tint the back window because they high beam your ass when they pull you over so they can see what youre doing inside the car... if you have the back window tinted dark they dont know if your getting a shot gun ready for them.

 

ive been pulled over twice in the last week and my windows are DARK all the way around. they didn't even say anything about my smoked tail lights....

 

mann! i got a ticket the other day for not having front plates... cops here suck! 1st ticket ever for me.

 

Yeah they didnt really care about the roach cause i told them i smoked it yesterday and they cant do anything about that. She just told me dont smoke and drive because they can get me for a DUI if i ever do get caught. And Legends are made for smoking. Leather seats, leather top. What coupe do you know has 1 ash tray in the front and two in the back? Straight mobbing car. But do you guys think it would be a good idea to buy two front windows and changing them out? Difficultly level??? Doesn't seem that hard to me. Cant i just take out my door panels and unscrew some stuff and replace the windows like that?

I just replaced the seals around my windows and had to take the windows out because of the channel run. It was a friggin pain. But, if you would rather do that than just have it taken off, inspected, and put back on, then it is an option. It could save money in the long run if you keep the windows for the next time you get pulled over.

 

Window replacement get easier each time you do it. Just lower window about half way, remove panel, remove or loosen two bolts that hold window, remove one bolt that holds window lock at top, and you are ready to pull window out. Bit of a pain the first time, much easier second time, and not too bad after that.

 

I agree. The first time was a real pain, the second window not quite as bad. I'm sure if I keep pulling my doors apart I will be able to do it in my sleep soon

I assume you're referring to the OP, in which case I don't disagree. Rockin' illegal tint and rolling around blazin' = recipe for bust. What's the definition of insanity---doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results?

Obviously you didnt learn much from your first ticket, did you! I can help ! If you keep breaking the tint rules, no one can really help you much.
Re tint you windows legally and your problem is solved.

And dude, if you keep smoking weed while driving with illegal tint, sooner or later you may find you have a much more serious problem.

Im located in Sacramento/Elk Grove. EGPD has absolutely nothing to do. At night sometimes i see them cruising the streets switching lanes constantly and turning on their sirens just to make a turn. They also rapidly press on the brake to make it flashing. The same cop that i saw do all this reved his engine on me and i reved back. After I did that he just took off and went smashing about 80mph on a local street. I didnt chase after him because I was already drunk. So avoid Sacramento/Elk Grove. This place blows.

Hahaha you guys got me there. I'm still young so im just having my fun i guess. Thanks for all the feed back everyone. I'm planning to pick up 2 front windows for $100 and try to bargain for $75 and just swap it out and get my ticket signed off and repeat if anything. [I'm picking the windows up from the dismantling place from where i get the JDM headlights. He has a couple of pairs of KA8 and TONS of KA7 so PM me if intrested. I've been lagging on everyone else on them, havent had much time to be on the forum to make sales just been using to get help and advice for my car.]

i have had friends that get their doctors to sign a note permitting their window tint for sensitive skin haha it works everytime.. the cop will just look at it all confused and let you go.

ok wasn't your first ticket a fix it ticket? just tell the cop u already got pulled over for it and still have X amount of months to pay it off and u will get it fixed and she shouldve left u alone

In 14 yrs of having my windows light tinted all the way around, l've only been pulled over for it once-and I also live in Cali. Cop gave me a choice-either replace missing front plate or strip off tint.

Guess which one I chose?

 

Let us know how the window swap goes. And you can pm me if you get stuck trying to replace the windows. All's you need is a phillips head, and a 10mm socket wrench with an extension. And if you are going to go through all of that you should put some grease in your channel runs while your in there. I picked up a tube of Honda grease from the dealer for $25. And quit driving around fucked up, it's not safe and dui's are expensive and can ruin your chances of getting a good job!

mmm....citations. i got bunch o' tickets back in the day. no more for me, i've had my share. but really though, i dont know the exact percentage but my girl got 20 in the front and 15 in the back with no problems. i dunno how she does it, maybe cuz she's cute...idk. but basically they dont want dark ass tint in the back cuz they cant see you when they have they spotlights pointed in your cabin, and your front windows cant be tinted cuz they think you might be pointing a shot gun at them, or getting a shot gun to point at them:dunno:
