Hope its OK that I posted under the G1 section. Nothing else seemed fitting.

Its an '84 Civic powered by an C25A Acura Legend 2.5L V-6. The bodywork (front and rear bumpers, quater panel flares, fender flares, and rocker extensions) was hand built. A very interesting mix of parts were used during construction. '87 Corvette brakes all around, a Porsche 944 airbox, and 240Z rear suspension bits are some of the highlights, along with many more custom fabricated parts like lower rear control arms.

The car was constructed in the early 90s. It was featured in Sport Compact Car back in February of '94, and again in Turbo and Hi-Tech Performance in February of '97. Full documentation of the build comes with the car. Judging by some of the articles that were in the documentation, the builder toyed with the idea of a Whipplecharger at one point. Also in the binder were articles pertaining to the Ford Festiva/SHOgun, the Renault R-5 Turbo, and the Puegot 205 Turbo 16. All of which share the design of a pint sized hatchback with a big/powerful motor in the back.

There is a ton more to learn. In the next few days/weeks as I work my way through the paperwork I will post any other interesting and pertinent info. Also, I will see about scanning some of the dozens of pictures that document the build.

For now, here are a couple of current pictures;

Hey Darkhand,
My daughter's 86 CRX just got written off after I had just found her a nosepiece in really good cond. in white which she won't be needing. It's available if you know of anyone with a Gen 1 needing it cheap just want to get it out of the garage.

Wow, I am still subscribed to this thread! Yes, I still have the car. It is in storage awaiting major surgery. :D Recently procured a Gen 2 motor (have not had time to look for ID on the block so I do not know if it is a C30A or C32A). Next step is to determine whether the Gen 1 transaxle will bolt up. Throw in a stand alone fuel management system, some forced induction, a set of Kodiak wheels, a fresh paint job, mix thoroughly, bake at 375 degrees, and serve.

Sorry I have not been around lately. Been too busy at work. Time on the 'net and under the hoods of project cars has been cut to a bare minimum. Should start to make some headway on this one next year.

And, yes the R5 was Andy's inspiration for building the car.

this car seems to have quite a history that i have been completely unaware of...

i need to go through my magazine archives and look up the various articles...

i def want some more info... so please post some more pics, please... i noticed that the owner hasn't posted in awhile, i hope he has not disappeared, i have so many questions...

we are planning a '85 1500s awd conversion in the near future as a fun project. using as much honda content as possible. it will be initially d-series powered, w./awd civic drivetrain. mid-engined. then if all works as planned poss a b-series crv drivetrain into an eg bodied hatch or coupe to follow.
