so there i was, driving down the 65mph, oak tree lined plantation ridden hwy 61 near charleston the other night... i was doing abt 70, and was coming up on a ford escort going abt 60, so i went for a nice, slow pass. well, upon coming around into the left lane, i noticed them hitting the breaks-
i thought to myself, "self, isn't it considerate of that driver to slow down in order to allow me a faster pass?" well, as i came around the car, they slammed thier breaks- suddenly a 3-4ft deer came out from in front of her car! the abs kicked on pretty hard, needless to say; but i hit the deer whilst still going around 40mph.
we both pulled over, as we were walking to check out the deer, a semi finished it off, so my thoughts shifted to my car... some hair, some blood- no damage! wow! :D
well, the next day, i noticed the right side of the bumper was sagging a skosh. the piece that holds onto that cylindrical notched clip has broken on the left side. any idea what this is called, how much it is, how easy it is to fix? i imagine it's just a matter of pulling off the bumper and changing out that one part?

thanks folks!

ps- i think my next upgrade is going to be some deer whistles mounted down by the foglights... $1.99 for deer insurance...

MrOnions - my eyes are watering up.

I feel your pain.

Many years ago a deer jumped out and I hit the de~am thing and after the repairs where done all be de~am if it wasn't one week later the same thing happened all over again.

I'm thinking that you are talking about the bumper stay which costs 50.00 USD - Anyone, please help this guy - I believe I know what he is talking about but don't have ready access to my HELM manual.

Consider yourself lucky. A deer ran in front of my friends accord, broke the right headlight, put a big dent of the hood, and even cracked and misaligned the moonroof. As for bambi......may she rest in peace.

The part is called a bumper cover slide. It retails for under $15.
You need to remove the bumper in order to access the clip and screws.

Note: HID's seem to scare the hell out of animals.
I've just noticed this.

I've encountered a few squirrels and rabbits running near the side of the roads when I'm driving w/ my HIDs..

Watch out , out there guys :)
