Well, after 17 years my ball joints decided to go bad. I need to get them replaced by the end of the month or the car fails inspection...and I need it by Thanksgiving because I plan to take the car on a Black Friday run.
I found a local mechanic who says he needs to find someone out of his 20 suppliers who have them. How tough is it to find ball joints for 1988 sedans?
Also, how long do ball joints usually last? Mine are the original and my car has 105K original miles. The car, for the record, is stock. Not even the radio has been replaced.
(I do know that the coupe used different parts--should I mention this to the guy just in case?)
