A hybrid is like part one car, and part another. ;)

Legendz_4_life and DV8 have transplanted Type II engines into their normally Type I cars.

The Type I engine was standard in all '91 to '95 L and LS sedans,and '91 and '92 coupes. In '93 the Type II engine was introduced in the coupes, which it carried until '95. In '94 and '95, a new sedan was introduced with the Type II engine. This was the GS sedan, and the only sedan that carries that engine.

Both Type I and Type II are 3.2L V6s, but the Type II puts out 230 hp while the Type I puts out 200 hp.

What causes the type II to have 30 more HP? is it the Head? also, when did the Legend get VTEC? I just bought a 91 L coupe on Monday and the information surge is killin me here....I owned a 6 speed miata and was all in the autoX scene for 2 years now i gotta get used to the V6's and sunroofs.....haha...anyways....any way you can post me some trheads or links on like ways to get that 30 HP other than an engine swap....like making my type I engine Vtec or something? thanks!.....

I'm not familliar with the exact differences that add 30hp in the Type II, but there are others who do, and I'm sure that they'll chime in sooner or later. :)

However, I can tell you that the Legend never got VTEC. :)
