I have an '87 Legend Coupe base model that I just picked up. It has the non-Bose stereo in it. I was poking around in the trunk last week and I noticed this box mounted on under the parcel shelf. It has an RJ-45 (ethernet cable) connector on it and what looks like a coax cable. Is this some sort of antenna booster or other? When I was replacing my stereo Saturday I noticed the other end of this ethernet-like cable disconnected behind my stereo...

Just curious what this is.

Ah yes, that's probably it. There's a mount for an antenna on the back window (just the plastic stuck to the glass) and a base swivel bolted to the passenger side of the tunnel/console.

Yes, it sounds like it is the cellular phone transceiver.
