Has anyone on the forum had any experience using the new body panel adhesives, as opposed to welding, to repair (for example) rust damage or collision damage? Although I have access to welding equipment, the adhesive option seems a bit more "elegant" ...if you know what I mean. Seems like using a simple cutting wheel to remove a damaged area, then "flanging" the edges with a flanging tool (Eastwood Co. - Flanger And Hole Punch Combination Tool ) and making a matching repair panel, then "gluing" it in place (Research Bulletin 1996-3) would be less "trouble" than the traditional welding approach. I'm looking at having to do both rear wheel-wells on both my cars in the next number of months ...and am considering this an option. Comments ...suggestions??
