I was wondering if anyone on this forum works in an Acura Service department or parts department. I am having problems with the BOSE amp in my 1991 LS Sedan and was notified that there was a recall on the amps. When I went to Fountain Acura they said that it was performed on my car. But the funny part was he didn't even look at the computer for any more than 15 sec so I think he was pulling my chain. Caould someone look it up for me and let me know before I go and buy an amp.

I do believe there is no end to this recall. Call AoA and ask them. They will at least look it up for you. There should be some VIN list available to the owners that shows what cars have had this repair done to them. That would just make things too easy.

I just signed up at Acura.com and the strangest thing happened.

When I enter my vin in lower case letters, it says that I have a Black 92 Legend LS 4 DOOR. But when I change it to upper case letters, it gives me the correct model, which is a two door. Hmmm....

Well I finally got in there and according to Owner's Link the problem was fixed. So why would the AMP go bad in under 4 years?
The recall was to address the risk of fire. In a lot of cases the recall didn't fix amps that weren't working. Just ensured that the car wouldn't burn up because of a short in the amp.

I have a 91 LS sedan. If you call Matt at Bose, he might help you out. He took care of me when I thought my amp was going bad. Matt Dorin 508-766-9524 Bose Corporation. Give him a call. He'll at least give you a good price on a new one. Good Luck! :D
