i have a very simple and stupid question :)hide:) that i can't seem to find the answer to... i need to remove my calipers to paint them, do i need to drain the brake fluid? i feel like i do but i haven't seen anywhere say that i need to...

That diy is for replacing the brake pads and rotors, not painting them. If you can paint them while attached to the brake lines then you don't have to mess with the brakes. If you want to remove the calipers to make cleaning and painting much easier you will need to remove the caliper from the brake line. I would keep the cap on so that all the fluid does NOT come out and plug the line if possible. Then you will need new washers when attaching the lines back to the calipers plus then bleeding the brakes afterwards. When replacing pads you have to push the calipers open and that is why you have to remove or open the fluid reservoir cap.
okay, and since i am removing the brake pads do they need to be resurfaced? :/ god i know NOTHING about brakes
They best thing for you to do since you don't have experience is get the caliper kit where you use a brush instead of spray paint. (brakes are nothing to play with!)
i just used some thick spray paint worked fine for me and just left the calipers on it

:hide:looks good orange!! i'm just woried about the longevity of it, haha... and bigboy... i'm kinda stuck with where i'm at, car is on jacks completely dissasembled with the breaks and a can of the spray version... so i'm gunna tape off the back part and just go at the parts that are visable... i've spend hours watching diy's on other cars break calipers so i think i'll be ok?:hide::hide::hide:
actually i will spray into a plastic container and brush that on, should work ok i hope... haha
