Brake Light Problem

1318 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  logic
I just bought a 1990 legend and the only problem with it is that the break lights are always on. Even when I turn the car off. They always stay on. Does anyone know know what I can do to fix it?

Welcome to the forums!
Brake light switch is faulty or needs adjusting see:

Doesn't sound like something you want to drive till thats fixed (you'll get rearended)
the brake lights have their own fuse under the hood, removing this will kill the lights & your horn.

BP
replace the little rubber plunger at the brake petal.

O.K., Test the switch, replace if bad, replace the rubber plunger if good....
