bent

I had my front knuckes bent and my rear suspension shimmed to bring it back into factory spec. After 200k mi suspension "collapse" is not uncommon (As I was told by an Acura specialist/alignment tech).

hi john

Hey john,
Yeah, you would think that they would have just replaced something, but the bending is what he recommended. BTW, two separate shops recommended this guy specifically (Aligning frames, suspension, etc is all they do) because they said he could do a better job than they could.
Can't complain, car tracks and turns great. And no I have never bottomed the suspension or anything like that to damage it.
If I were Honda, I wouldn't write to bend anything either. Just asking for trouble IMO. And yes, I did look at my factory manuals, no Haynes crap here.

agreed

John,
I agree with what you are saying. And I am not trying to argue with you. All I am saying is that after 211,000 miles, the knuckles on my car were no longer factory spec. The tech just decided to heat and bend them back into factory spec instead of replacing them. My car has a factory suspension/wheel set up (except for Moog lower ball joints) so there should be no problem if I need new springs.
If they didn't have the expertise, I wouldn't have agreed to it. That said, heating and bending the knuckle will never be as good as a brand new part.
