I thought that the idle was supposed to be 750? Perhaps I'm thinking of my CRX or my Accord

Idle is supposed to be under 1000. I think it's right around 650-750 on both my cars.

Sounds like you need a new PGMFI relay from that description.

I agree - time for a new main relay. As many times as the relay comes up, it has to be the most replaced part in the G1.

Clean your throttle body. Also, adjust your idle screw. I adjusted mine and while there was no noticeable difference on the tachometer, the stalling when I placed car in "P" was eliminated.
