best catalytic converters?
DEC makes a catalytic for the G1.
It's between 240-350 bucks.
It's a hiflow cat w/ mandrel bent piping.

which brings me to my next question, is there going to be a sufficient gain in performance??? I have heard that while adding hp, a high flow cat on these cars can rob low end torque. SO overall, you are not gaining anyhting, just gaining hp while sacrificing torque.

Let's be realistic,
It's not gonna be a turbo for your car.

But it's probably good for 2-4 hp

I did not notice any (negative) difference in torque on low end.
But I did notice an increase on highway speeds.

I'm the wrong guy to ask.
I went from stock rusted exhaust and catalytic needing replacing.
To DEC + Stromung catback and saw an immediate difference.

Your results may vary.

Right now, as far as I am concerned the stromung exhaust is not loud enough for me to like because it is too quiet. I also dont know how much louder it will get by putting that high-flow cat on it.

Esti went from a half-stromung to full stromung w/ DEC hiflow cat.
He'd be the best guy to tell you......

ok- like jose3030 said i went from a stromung muffler only to a full stromung system w/ the dec Cat. The first thing which i noticed was the increased exhaust noise. It's still pretty quiet at idle but u get nice racey growl when u press the gas. I'm very happy with the sound.

As per gains or loses- I haven't felt any decreases in my low end torque. As far as increases I really can't say. I haven't taken my car up over the 100's yet to compare the high end.

I agree with Jose3030:
"Let's be realistic,

Is it worth it?
Well if u have $250-350- to throw away sure get it- but don't expect too much.
For that price I would get the chip first.

Hope this helps
Esti
