Yeah, sounds like wiring. This is the one adjacent to the thermostat, right?

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide for Code 6. Nice two-page list. Verifies voltages and resistance at both the sensor end and (first) the ECU.

1988 Coupe Manual Pages 11-28 & 11-29

Oops!, Just noticed your have a 2.0 TURBO. JDM version for sure.
Don't think it'd be much different, but could be.

Hey, its the sensor that screw in to the block. it has a 2 wire electrical plug that connects on to it, and its pretty much directly below the distributor.
done a bit of research on the net and founf the sensor itself should read 400-600ohms resistance, and the plug, approx 5 volts... Ill do the test tomorrow.

Any ideas where to get and online manual for the 1st gen legend? shouldnt be to much different accross the different models.

I believed for NONE-TURBO models, the sensor right below the distributor is COOLANT TEMPERATURE "GAUGE" SENDER for your dash indicator and it has ONLY 1wire plugged into it...

COOLANT TEMPERATURE (TW) SENSOR is adjacent to the thermostat as KAHruzer mentioned in previous post... perhaps TURBO is set-up differently... :2cool:
