When I turn my key to the on position my car throws a code in pairs of two! Does anyone know what this means? It would be greatly appreciated!

What exactly are the codes? Is it red blinks, or yellow blinks?

How many red blinks do you get? It'll do a quick blink. Then the blinking stop, then it'll repeat the code for you or shows another code. Count the blinks.

Ah yes, the dreaded Code 8-TDC (Top Dead Center) Position. Pretty much your gonna have to replace the distributor rather than replacing the TDC sensor inside the distributor. You can either check ebay or hit the junkyard, and you might be lucky if you get a good one.

yeah man that terrible I had two distributors but the guy who put it in kept the other one I'll have to pay him a visit first thing in the morning! And that will also explain the reason my car turn like three times before it cranks! That's why I'm doing all the work from here on myself!!! Thanks Man

No prob and remember to pull the Alternator Fuse for 10-15 secs to reset the ECU after you replaced the distributor.

If he hasn't done it, then yes, do it now. After you have reseted the ECU, your gonna have to drive it around for a bit, then check the ECU again if it is throwing the same code.

In the engine bay. Its the mini fuses, not the big ones that is held done by screws. It'll say on the cover.

Engine bay 7.5A brown fuse.

Damn too slow :p

Off. All you're doing is cutting off power to the ECU's RAM chip to make it forget that there was ever a problem.

Probably a bad idea to ever pull fuses when the car is on, by the way. It can cause arcs, bridging, improper shutoffs, voltage overloads, all sorts of issues.

Thanks for everything but it's still throwing the same code he kept the new one I just bought and left the one on that came with the engine and he also held on to my alternator that I spent a good amount of money on! What happened to all the hard working honest people? I have paid him over a $1,000 and he is trying to steal from me it's a shame!

Hahaha, there are only a handful of honest people left let me assure you.

Be wary of everyone!

Wow, he charged you that much to replace a couple of simple stuff? Lesson learned lol. And ya it seems your gonna have to replace it again.

Wow dude... OEM distributors cost ballpark $300. I'd get a refund and if you can and DIY, I hear it's not all that complicated. I need to replace mine, too.
