I have an 1990 Acura Legend Coupe LS, i drove my car for 8 hours when i was traveling upstate New York 9 (Niagara falls) i didn't have any problems on the way up but when was coming back home,i've notice some antifreeze under the passeger's wheel on the way home, it came out from the coolant tank it happened when i stopped at the rest area,i checked the temp gauge and it was fine.since yesterday it hasn't happened again,i had to add more antifreeze to the tank,it was almost empty. i've replaced the timing belt, water pump, belts and oil pan gasket.
any ideas why this happened?

Thanks

inspect your water hoses

inspect your water hoses.

there is a hose that goes inside the car on that sid if I remember and there is a small hoses right above the O2 sensor passenger side by the firewall . Look in those areas and trace it.

BTW How much was that timing belt job.

thanks gabycol

I was told $950 at the Acura Dealer Parts/ Labor

Inspect your are after it warms up. I am sure you will find it.

BTW If the water pump was not installed correctly, It can leak antifreez!!! In that area too!

Hey, i dont think this will help much but my car also leaks coolant, it started last fall. I never developed a pattern and i could never trace where it was coming from. It would leak off and on and it stopped for about 5 months but it just started doing it again. i took it two a couple mechanics and it didnt leak when i took it to them and they couldnt figure out where it could be coming from. Anyway, i havent had any problems with my car since this started happening, just refill the coolant everyonce and a while.
