I was looking at a 1990 Legend LS coupe today and would consider buying it. The only problem is that it's red.. I color I absolutely detest. The car looks in good shape though and I'm going to get my mechanic to check it out and I think it would be dumb to pass up a good deal because of the color. About how much would it be to get it repainted? I live in Canada btw. Thanks.

I have no idea what the different types are but if you know a price range that would be great.

For even a half way decent paint job, you're looking at about $1800 to $3000. If you wanted to half-ass it (which would slash the value of the car and the car would probably look like s**t) it would cost about $700. If you don't paint the door jambs and all other parts, you're looking at like $400 for Maaco. I would not replace the factory finish with Maaco, even if the car was pink! Unless the car is like $1000, I would search for a Legend in the color you like. You can't beat a nice, quality paint job.

I echo colinc - the car is never the same after being repainted. You can always tell it was repainted unless you spend alot. Either buy the car and live with the color or keep looking.
