Coupe lower on one side...

1125 Views 7 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  CakeDaddy
Looking at my car lately and I have noticed that one side is about 1 inch lower than the other on the whole side. One side has a little fender gap and the other a huge one. What's up with this? Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? thanks.

When I installed my Ground Control coilovers, I had it all set at the same height. Then when it was all dropped down the passenger side was higher then the drivers side. So I ended up lowering the passenger side more (since Ground controls are adjustable) and it's pretty much even now. I would have to say in your case, if you really want to fix the gap problem, buy a set of konis/ground controls and you'll have the ability to fix that problem.
Yea mine does that. Not an inch but maybe little less than half an inch. Not too bad at all. Other people can't tell only me cuz it's my car. :)

This is with koni/eibach.
you put a spring upside down. I did it to hehe.

Hows that GC/Koni ride. Can you honestly say it a good ride. I like the fact that you can adjust it on one side. Do you have the Eibach or the HR on the GC's. And, do yo u have to take the wheel off to adjuct the GC's or just stick the tool in above the wheel and adjust it?

Oh, and are the springs (HR/Eibach) the same part no. as buying them without the GC's?

CakeDaddy...the GC's are a combination adjustable Spring Sleeve...you can only use them with Koni's OR Stock/Boge/Sachs Struts (Shocks)

However, they are not interchangeable - if you buy Gc's for Koni's, you cannot use them on stock shocks, and vice versa

I can honestly say it is a good ride. It feels just like stock to me. The ground controls only come with Eibachs, not H&R. You don't have to take the wheel off to adjust it, all you have to do is lift the car up on whichever side you choose to adjust and stick your hand in the space above the wheel and below the fender to get to the ground control, loosen the allen screw with the allen wrench and adjust it all you want. Then tighten the allen screw and drop it back down and your done.
Leon & Sammy,

thanks for the reply. I ordered some Eibachs and they mis-keyed my credit card number so, I will not be getting them.. I cancelled the order when they called me back to verify the card no. LOL. May have been a blessing, so I can do more research on what I want. May some GC/Koni's thx
