I have the stock non bose head unit. I have a v12 alpine 5 channel amp running all my speakers and sub. When I adjust the volume either up or down I get a real loud crackling sound. I know its not the speaker because they are all eclispe speakers and sound good once the volume is set. The crakling sound only comes from the passenger side door. When I spray wd40 around the volume control on my head unit the cracklin sound goes away for a couple of days but then it comes back.

Does any one know how to solve this problem?

Try this, with the radio off rotate the volume knob all the way in both directions about ten or twenty times, this may clean the internal wipers in the volume control.
Good luck!

Hey,

I tired it and it worked. I couldn't believe it. It actually worked and it was so simple.

Now when I turn my volume up and down I am suprised not to hear the crackling.

Thanks
