on saturday i used it on the highway and the light was on and fine,
but today cruise control didnt work.

This might be the most likely issue with it. The diaphram in the cruise control mechanism probably collapsed and therefore when u engage cruise control, it's trying to create a vacuum, but it can't, because it can't move the diaphram to do it.
