Cupholder is messing up..

It's probably dirty or something. You can take it apart to clean it if you're up to it.

BTW, that switch is just a lock. The cup holder should stay in even without using that switch.

Thats right..I forgot about that...Like if you press it once it stays in, and then press it again, it pops out...How do I take it out?

Flip the console lid open. I believe that it's held in by 4 screws (or something like that) then it comes off. It comes apart pretty easily. I can't recally exactly, but I remember taking it apart several times while waiting for someone in my car.

My other GS doesn't have a cupholder either!

Well, at least the 6-speed helps to take my mind off of it.

Crap, I was trying to look back in it today for dust or something and I pulled the part that has the circular cutout for the cup a little, and it broke off...It is connected at two spots, and apparently one was already broken off and the other barely hanging...Looks like I'm gonna have to buy a whole new armrest or maybe I can just buy the cupholder part...???

That sucks. Well, look at it this way. At least it broke off while you were not using it. It would have been worse if it broke off at the drive through.

In the mean time, you can pick up a cheap, but good a/c vent cup holder from Pep Boys. I have one in each of my Legends.

Matt, that blows goats. Been there, done that. Believe it's about $110 or so for a new one. That was one of the first repairs I did when I got my '92---the SOB that previously owned the car broke the cupholder and the console lid by leaning on them with his big 12 sandwich-eating azz.

Sorry---had to vent. Been 3 years and it still pisses me off. Go ahead and splurge for a new one, it's worth it. Later---

Grrrrrrr...you're just rubbing it in aren't you? I tried to sell my 94L auto so that I could buy this GS 6sp. that I found, but I couldn't get enough dough out of mine to justify the purchase...So now I've blown my wad on springs/struts/brakes/new wheels...oh and Vegas too..LOl...I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BROKE now.

If I save up enough dough, my mechanic said he could install turbo on my car though ....hmmmm, is it worth $6K to me? We'll find out...LOL.

Actually, I still enjoy driving my auto GS very much. That's why I can't bear to let it go.

As many here know, I, along with Legendary94GS, have been on a quest to find a 6-speed GS for a very long time, but when I started driving a 540 6-speed, I got hooked and had to get my 6-speed "now!".

I enjoy driving both, and I don't see my auto GS as any less of a car.

The installer broke my cupholder while installing my alarm cause I left it out. The owner took it apart, super glued the pieces back together and reinstalled it it about 20 minutes. I always roll with a 32oz cup in it. Looks and works better than before. Try to fix it b4 paying those big bucks. Also the air vent ones work good too.
