what's up man. well, i live in northern va, work in NW dc, and the mechanic is in rockville, md which is like a half hour trip for me (and right next to a metro station so you can go pick your car back up from there) but well worth it considering how much he always saves me. plus they only specialize in hondas and acuras.
let me get a general idea of the kind of work you need done and i can give him a call and tell him that i'm going to refer you to him. he is very reliable and will do just about anything you need done. i plan on going down there in a couple of weeks myself to get a new front tire rod for my legend. he's doing that for me for $230 instead of the $700 to $900 the dealership quoted me on.
i see you're from nova too, and if you in arlington/falls church/alexandria area, the only acura dealership Radley Acura is a ripoff in my opinion. They overcharge, don't know too much about what they're doing, and several times they have told me there was **** wrong that was not even true so they can try to get money from me.
and lemme know what kinda car you got or picture and stuff, haha, who knows we may have already ran into each other before and maybe not...
Thanks man...i wish i wouldvre known about your shop earlier, ive spent alot of money with some bs shops in the area, and yes Radley Acura here sucks. What city in nova are you from?? im from the woodbridge area. Although there is nothin i know of wrong with my car right now (knock on wood), i am gonna need a new A/C compressor when it starts to warm up outside. i have a 91 5 speed coupe. whats your email address? thanks.
I am in rockville, and have a legend to get some work done. Anyway, i have a problem with my legend that i think I should be able to fix if I could diagnose.
The engine temp needle stays at full cold after driving for a long time even. But if I stop and turn the engine off and turn it up again, then the needles comes up slowly to the temp it should be showing. I dont mind the temp nbeedle to be wrong but for the fact that I suspect that the radioator circulation is not happening, and i am sitting in a cold car blowing cold air at me when the engine is warm.
Just a thermostat? or anything more? Also, how do i change my thermostat, given that the Hanes manual I bough on ebay has not arrived yet. 92 legend ls.
yes, i called the mechanic and told him i was going to refer some people who are looking for a good mechanic who own ac legends. ask for Shawn. he told me to inform everybody that you will get the same warranty you will at the dealership and you will get much better deals than the dealership. and much better service too in my opinion. after i started going there, you won't catch me dead in the acura dealership except simply driving through to stare in awe at the NSX's there!
so here is the contact info:
A Plus Auto Repair
15563 Frederick Road
Rockville, MD 20855
ask for Shawn and tell him a fellow legend owner referred you.
good luck everybody! any questions, ask away!
