Check the thread for pics. I have seen it in person and it looks amazing! Kirky40 is getting info but he said it shouldn't be more than $75. He doesn't have all the stuff yet but he'd def do it if there were like 5-6 buyers. Just post to let me know how many people are interested. Thanks!

Edit - Might be more around $75

I'm sorry guys for the wait. Stuff has been a little crazy for me lately. The link to the pics got replaced by accident with pics from the Seattle meet. I'm gonna take some new ones soon and get them uploaded, and post a link with new pics. If we can get five or six of you guys to want one I think I can crank some out for around $50 bucks each. I'm still waiting to hear from my tint guy how much he would charge me for the frost tint on the back of the plexiglass. He did mine for free, so hopefully he will cut me a good deal. It may end up being closer to $75 bucks or so, but I think that it is worth it compared to the alternative cheezy plastic kits. Post a response if you would like to get in on this. I'd like to make some up for you all.

Here is the proper link:

Sweet, that's two including Stratoknight. 3 or 4 more and this should work out. Keep in mind guys, you can use any color of neon behind the plexi you want. Red, blue, purple, green, whatever. The kit wont come with the neons, but if you like the neon light effect, my cost is only like 25-30 bucks for a set of 2 mini neons. Retail can be up around 50 bucks for a set. So if you want to buy a set of those included let me know what color.

It's not mine. It's Kirky40s. If there is enough interest then he will make them. Looks like we have a few people.

PNJNYC if you like the mini neons they are a little extra. It should be designed to fit all single din type headunits:)

little extra is fine with me...but i'm thinking about a different color now becuz my interior is not dark or black...its tan and brown...my color theme in the interior has been blue though...either way i want the lights...i'll decide on the color later...suggestions are welcome..or maybe some sample pics of other colors? thanks and keep me updated...i'm very interested (as long as it can accomodate my z828)

jack

ps- just curious, can we have something etched into the mounts? ie. maybe the word acura like how it is on the trunk. also, can we get a dimmer switch so that we can adjust the brightness?

haha...lemme know. thanks!!!!

Hey guys this is great. I would love to make these for you all. My tint guy said it will depend on how many he would need to tint, before he gives me a set price. But he said it wouldn't be too bad. Let's get a final head count. I am setting the price at $75 for the kit. I'm sorry if that is too much but hey, these take me about 3-4 hours a piece to get just perfect. Plus I will need to purchase the matierial, and pay my tint guy. A install shop would charge about $250 to make one of these kits, so it is a great deal. The kit will include the nessasary screws and instructions to mount. This kit will fit any and all single din head units, and fit G2 sedans (they may fit coupes but I'm not certain). If you would like for me to get a set of lights let me know what color. A dimmer can't be used in this application, but I do recommend a toggle switch so they can be turned on and off at will. They are not so bright that you can't drive with them on. I will include these instuctions as well how to install the lights and toggle.

The engraving may be tough to do on these because on the back of the plexi is a "frost tint" so you cant see though the glass to all the electronics. You could however mount an "ACURA" trunk emblem to the back and when the light was on you would see the word "ACURA" through the plexiglass. That would be tight.

As far as security. Your best defence against theft is to have an alarm. Any kit could be made out of metal, and if a thief wants it bad enough he will get it out. However, there are no visible screws or mounting hardware just by looking at it, and it doesn't look like a normal kit so a thief my be less likely to attempt to dig in. Also, it is very easy to attach a piece of metal back strapping from the back of the deck to the car to give the kit and the deck more support and defence against theft. But of course I can't promise that it is theft proof, nobody who makes kits will ever promise that.

To recap: $75 for each kit, no lights. Lights will be priced separatly to each person depending on color. (plan about $30) Shipping will be UPS ground, paid by the customer. Price depends on location of customer and if they would like to pay for insurance on the package.

I need final head count please. If there are questions that this doesn't cover let's get them answered and get you in on this.

Well to be completely honest I don't know. I have installed several decks into sedans but never taken apart a coupe. The head unit may be the same, but I fear that the mounting hardware may be different. If there is anyone who wants to take off the trim piece that surrounds the head unit exposing the mounting structure of the coupes, and post a pic, I should be able to tell if the mounting is the same. I can also try in the next day or two to get my hands on a coupe and see for myself. We'll see.

Excellent guys. I'm gonna give this until the end of next week to let the stragglers join in, then we will figure out the $$ and payment situation. I am happy that I can help in some way to other Legend owners with my skills. This is great.

Confirmed:
Bootleg - w/blue lights
PNJNYC - w/blue lights (fellow desert mist owner)
FuSioNpNoY - w/blue lights
Stratoknight - w/red lights
chlo3 - w/ blue lights

Any others that would like to be confirmed????
