Hey i took my car to calder park last friday. Its an 88 honda legend coupe automatic with 336k on the clock. I got a total of 7 runs. The 1st run i got was 16.7, then 5 16.4s and the last run I got 16.341 at 85mph. Except on the last run i my slowest 60' time which is wierd cuz it was my best quarter run. The car is running absolutely stock at the moment, so i reckon if i put a new cold air intake on, add a 2.25 inch exauhst system, practice my take offs and go on a cooler night (it was a very hot night) i can probly get even lower 16s or maybe high end 15s (but i doubt it).

Here is pics of my car at the calder drags

nice car but slow, I did [email protected] with stock '89 sedan c27a1 engine and
manual transmision. Everything stock, except it's de-cat and no spare.
Prelude 15" wheels with 195/60 tyrs. The 60' feet time 2.52 was bad becaouse of wheelspin. Im gonna try wiht 215/45R17 and CAI to see
if time improves.

Thanks guys, its so worth taking it to the track n so much fun for so little money. I went with 3/4 of a tank there and i used bugger all fuel so probly go with like a quarter of a tank, if that to keep the weight down. Alll i needed was a racing helmet and to tape up my radiator overflow bottle, so any roadworthy car can be driven on the track.

15.51 is pretty fast, There were 2 manual R33 Nissan Skyline GTS-t (187kw 1300kg, RWD) and they struggled to get that. There was a VX Holden Commodore V6 there (151kw, 1500kg, RWD) and he could only get 16.6 so i thought my 16.341 Honda Legend (132kw, 1400kg, FWD) was pretty good. Maybe the hot weather kept the times up, cuz 15.51 is pretty quick. Plus my mates heavily modified Nissan Micra Turbo (107kw at front wheels (probly 140kw at engine), 800kg) could only get 15.3 on the quarter. Does any know what legends are suppose to run down the quarter?

VW Santana?, Nah its like 93 Ford Fairlane ghia 5lt V8, he got into the 16.3s as well.

I hope GM(US) imports these. We used to have something similar(larger though) a few years ago called the Chevrolet El Camino. Are there many AUS RWD "Muscle Cars"?
Thanks for the great pictures ZAV!

Thanks for the pictures. I especially like the yellow one! :giggle: :giggle: I know GM(US) and Holden akin. Are people required to have their autos tested for emissions? I'm wodering why we don't import some of these cars. Must have something to do with emissions or safety regulations and the added cost.

I want the yellow car with the 7liter V-8.. :giggle: :giggle:
so did everyone... oz used to have heaps of muscle cars mainly from chrysler, ford and holden, that nz shared in, now its just ford and holden and they battle it out in the aussie V8 super touring championships(V8 supercars) sort of like nascar but im afraid to say much better.. and my absolute favourite style of racing(as most aussie bogans would agree).. the most exciting

Hey thanks for the input about rockbank. Have u seen this 1 its the GTS-R and it the track edition which comes with a full spec roll cage, I think its running the Gen4 enigine.

We also got some 4litre straight sixes turbos from ford. This FPV Typhoon F6 has 270Kw and 550Nm of torque.

Plus we get all the imports from Japan. So we have Skyline, Supra, WRX, EVO, 180sx, Silvia, Pulsar GTI-R, RX-7s etc

Emmisions. We dont really get tested for emmisions unless ur car is smokin or you piss the cops off. I think they just just meet some ADR or EPA rules at showroom purchase. I know ur suppose to get an engineeres certificate if u like put a turbo on ur NA car, but cops really dont enforce that to a great extent.

yep i did a post on how gm australia did it with links to hsv and fpr.. hey dunno if they did it in aus but they banned importing pre 95 japanese cars due to fronal impact regs.. vics not to bad on emissions but nsw is tight as bro.. lol.. they dont even do emissions testing in nz.. england has all its own muscle cars.. aston martin, jag, tvr, etc etc.. they seem to try for more refinement(to be better than europe)lol whereas aus goes for plain muscle unless you go for a grange, statesman or fairlane.. lol my boss bought the new BA ute last year when it came out.. bet hes kickin himself now with the 295kw fpr :giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

Yes, the English seem to have "refined" cars. I just never heard or read of anything like the Monaro, etc.
