I ordered Honda ATF from www.hparts.com , but failed to notice that the ATF that they were sending is actually Honda ATF-Z1. The fluid that I've been using has been simply Honda ATF (not Z-1). I emailed the company and asked what the difference was between the two and the response was:

"ATF-Z1 is Honda automatic transmission fluid and it has been designed to work in Honda/Acura transmissions."

Will it be alright to use Honda ATF-Z1 in my 92 Sedan?

Thanks,

Gil

The folks at Augusta Acura sent me bottles of the ATF-Z1 also for my Auto 95L sedan so I doubt it would hurt your tranny. Don't think there would be much of a difference to matter since it's still by Honda, but not for sure.

I went to a local Honda dealer to pick up some ATF and they gave me those also. I don't know what the difference is but it seemed like those were the only one that the dealer had.

I dont know what the difference is but when I went to my local dealership all they had was the ATF-Z1 so it shouldn't be that much difference I assume. But you should be alright.
