Is there a way to disable the factory alarm. I'm tired of it going off when someone locks the doors manually.
Hmm.. Interesting. I'll make a note of that. My 6-speed uses the factory hood switch for the aftermarket alarm (my auto has a seperate switch). If my factory alarm starts acting up, I'll know what to do.ChrisK said:As far as the hood pin and aftermarket alarm, I ran a new wire myself. What I did was keep the connector connected. The In cut the return line to the car side. I then grouned the wire on the car side, so the OEM alarm thinks it has an open hood. ON the other side leading to the hood switch, I afixed another wire and ran that all the way back to me aftermarket alarm. Now, the hood switch acts as my pin switch for the aftermarket alarm, but since I grounded the wire leading back the car side, the security module thinks the hood is open and doesn't arm the OEM alarm.
