I just got back from a cross country trip and realized having a Navigation Unit would be nice.
I heard that I can get a DVD player and a Navi head unit.
What do you recommend??
I have no idea where to start.
What should I look for in a DVD/Navi headunit??
Where can I shop for one??
How much am I looking to spend??
Is the install hard??
Is there a monthly fee for the navigation??
So many questions... sorry.
Any other info would be great.
Thanks~~

All I can say is it's a big investment. It's going to run you about $2,500 for the good stuff.

Most people like Alpine and Panasonic.

Took a Look~~

I stopped by a stereo shop yesterday and they had a Kenwood and Alpine model.
Both were in-dash screens with in-dash DVD/CD.
I think one screen was 6.5 and the other was 7.0.
The installer wasn't sure but he said the 6.5 and/or the 7.0 should fit.
The price was around $1800.
Which line is better??
They didn't have Panasonic.

Rims...too much Hwy driving to get rims.
The rims I want are hard to find.

Anybody on the board have a DVD/Navi in the Legend??

Thanks~~

Not in the Legend, but had recently a multimedia system installed in my 97 Accord. I use my Playstation 2 as the DVD/Gaming unit to a center LCD console. It's an instant babysitter on those trips to Vegas and LA.

Get the Alpine w/ Navi. Easier to operate and calabirate (sp?). Plus the Alpine one is the most accurate. The Kenwood is Kick-A$$ as well but the touch screen seems to have some problems with it, you'll find yourself using the remote alot more.

I would never get the kenwood just because its a touch screen. Seriously, when u have a screen you really dont wanna be touching. Plus it leaves finger prints and is prone to problems. Go with the alpine. It has a built in gyroscope, so even if your not picking up 3 satilites the system will still know your location.

Great minds think alike...

if you're going to be watching DVD and stuff in the car go with pioneer, the picture quality is much better than the panasonic as well as the kenwood and alpine. I've seen all of them in comparison side by side playing the same movie at the same time. The only draw backwith the pioneer is that it doesn't have controls on the unit everything is controled by the remote. All in dash LCD will fit doesn't matter what brand or size. Din size are standards, when I play my pioneer in the sun I can still see the picture crystal clear even with direct sunlight hitting the scree.
