ok so a while back i remember a thread talking about reprogramming your ecu for performance purposes, has any one done this if so how did it work out for you? also i remember someone saying they knew how to do it anyone remember how might have said it? sam or gilbert i believe you know pretty much everything about our cars and the site so if you know any thing let me know please

I asked Telion about it as well, he mentioned the A/F ratios being a bit difficult to decode. He's a good man, but there's only so much of him to spread around :D

A few G1 guys have advanced their timing, consensus is sort of split on how much that helps. We need to get over to the local European race shop and steal their dyno :yes:

this is the result from changing the ignition from 15 to 22 degrees advanced (max on adjuster)

oh i was told over here that the map was not removable from the ecu with out a lot of work (cheaper to get mapable ecu)

I'm doing the SDS engine management kit, and everything is programmable. Actually there's not any maps set up on the thing when I get it, so everything has to be figured out on a dyno. I'll post what MY best timing and a/f settings are when I'm done, but the a/f values won't do you any good unless you got a turbo, too.

When you believe in something you don't understand, then you suffer.
Stock G1 ECU can not be reprogrammed.
You can, however, tune the PID constants for a few control loops.
If you want to do this, you may want to read up on PID control strategy.
