Sounds like you are running a little rich... Is your air filter in good shape? Have a fuel pressure test done. I had a similar problem and it ended up being the fuel pressure regulator. The diaphram broke and the vaccum line was sucking in gas causing it to run rich. A bad O2, map, and coolant temp sensor could cause this. BTW a sensor that is not completly shorted or giving out of range data will NOT turn on the check engine light. A sensor could be bad and not turn on the CEL.

1st. Check Air filter.

2nd. Replace coolant temp sensor. It only costs $35.00 from autozone. Very simple job. This sensor is a thermoresistor that after so many times of getting hot and cooling down it starts to loose it ability to change its resistance value based on temp. Just replace it.

3rd. Have a fuel pressure test done. If that passes the move on.

4th. Take it to a shop that knows Hondas. They will have diagnostic equipment that could look at these sensors and compare the readings to spec to make sure they are functioning.
fyi the coolant temp sensor is actually cheaper at your local acura dealer..

[email protected]! You must be nuts! Nothing at an Acura Dealer is cheaper than just buying it from Schucks, Auto Zone, Napa, or something like that.. Acura dealers overcharge everything they tryed making me pay $80 just to get my code for my bose stock stereo deck, when i took the serial # out myself.. IDK, i dont like em..
and why do you think people buy OEM quality stuff at their dealer... oh mang i gave it away... quality... shucks... sorry if i let you in on a little secret.

first line... any questions?

well if you do a search you'll find out that the NSX filter made by toyo roki in japan is one of the best filters... beats fram and purolator and all that bull
and no its not the same as the ones made in the us because the US ones IIRC are made by honeywell

i'll gladly pay $30 dollars for that filter knowing that i have peace of mind that its filtering the oil better than anything else.

people would love to pay 16 dollars knowing that my dealer still stocks NSX toyo roki filters

and the reason why i paid 6 dollars for the key is because i would like a key that has an acura logo on it... sure it might not matter to you but it does for me.

why do you think people are still paying for oem bose speakers when they can just get aftermarket?

btw why are you getting off track about they other things on my invoice...

i was just trying to show that i got the sensor from the dealer for $33 sorry for it not being a big enough difference for you.

Delray Acura
http://www.acuraoemparts.com sells that part for $26

tell me which would you rather get... oem or aftermarket for the same price when the oem one is better quality?

I've gone through 2 aftermarket ECT sensors already so you tell me?
