From previous posts along similar lines to this,
It's not advisable.

These big cars require that torque that only our engines will provide.

Besides, our cars are so heavy that the "horsepower" that little Civic engine will produce wont be as noticeable as "our" horsepower.

theb-20 he is referrin to is in the integra type-r 200hp nd like 187 lbs of torque.. its nbot a good idea that enigne sis probally gonna run you about 6-8,000 just for the engine let a lone trans and then custommotro mounts cstom front axles.... is too much a project... if you have that money throw it on a type 2 supercharger or turbo.. it is possilbe... ask dv8 or lon if your serious... cuz i am lol...jon.

I highly suggest you read the stickied threadabove and find a tuner in your town to assist you in installing these pieces. The Type R motor may be good, but it is good for a car that weighs prob 1000lbs less than ours. Another thing, that Type II motor can be made very righteous. Just keep your eyes peeled, and have patience. If you want to give up your Type II, send it my way and we can use if for R +D. Maybe I can put it in my Accord :D

Honestly, I would not put ANY motor from a Teg or Civic in my car...for one, it will look empty as heck, for two, the hp and torque are signifigantly less, and three, it will cost WAy more to do a swap like that and achieve MEDIOCRE results at best.
Have faith, young grasshopper, we should have some gooodies really soon. DV8 is working on headers, SC, we are working on everything else. ;)

The transmissions are the same 91-95.
They are also relatively easy to find for a good price.
How many miles on that motor for 2395?
Honda motors last for a long time if well taken care of....enjoy your 140k motor and tune it up...it would not even be about performance whne doing the b** swap.....you would lose reliable driveability...it is likely that it wouldnt be able to move itself properly, not to mention the introduction of torque steer, which we dont have now, and can be likely with boosting hp levels if possible.

If you are referring to the TL/CL engine swap...anything is possible...just remember. those cars are plagued with tranny problems.

rue that they have tranny problemsbut the six speed type s motor which i previously listed doesnt seem to have any problems ... atleast for the time being.

i was thinking about getting the type s teamed with the 6 speed thats in the acura now... i mean the tl type s engine is basically just an upgraded legend engine with vtec

do you think this engine swap would be advisable (good aftermarket support allready for these engines) or should i just duke it out and try to find a low mileage type 2 motor?

aso te one for 2395 is fresh

First off

Absolutley NOT.

Do you understand what your asking here?
A B20! in a legend?!

Lets put a 3.0 v6 in a Big rig..........

Second off

The B20 is the 2 liter inline 4 cyl engine found in ONLY the older and the newer, but not the newest Honda CRV. They are used for swaps to civics and integras because they provide tons of torque as compared to the b18 and b16.

Most people either turbo them right off the bat because of the low compression pisons found stock, or slap a VTEC head to them.

Thrid off
The legend needs bigger displacement=torque @ low RPM as compared to a 2.0 b20.

Look in to an NSX, early model RL and TL engines they are the best canidates, but your going to need $$

in addition to what DV8 said, this is not your best solution...please remember that the CL-S 6 speed is still new, so of course no failure data has been released yet....trust me on this one...I work on Failure Rate Analysis for my entire company, so I can pretty much speak from experience here. You won't hear any widespread problems unitl the product has been in the end user's hands for a minute, or the OEM says they must recall the item in question for a mech/elec flaw.

SECONDLY, if you only have 2grand, there is NO way in heaven's green earth you going to find a new CL-s motor AND tranny, AND get someone to install it for 2 grand. This is FULL custom work...let alone get the Type II/6 speed swap like I did/may do.

This is what you will need....btw, not saying it can't be done, but it will cost ...not to mention FINDING the parts....

1- motor
2 - tranny
3- ECU
4- all harnesses
5- gearbox
6- motor mounts (will they fit?)
7- front axle assy
8- possiblilty of steering assy
9 - gauges
10 - alot of cash and patience

This can be done, but if you are screaming that you ojnly have 2grand, this kind of thing needs to wait until you have adequate cash on hand....labor will eat you up, not to mention a brand new part (where will you find it used? It was launched in MArch 2002)

So, if you want something worthwhile and cost effective, go gfor the C32A1/6speed swap.

I hope this sheds some light on the situation.

Are Type II 6m and automatic engines DIFFERENT?

Like if my 6speed engine blew out, would I have to find ANOTHER 6speed out there in a junker to replace it?

Or just any engine?

I would never go down in displacement, only up. Just because the engine has 150K, doesn't mean it needs to be replaced. I have 175k on my type II and its still going strong. Spend the $2k getting more air in and out of the engine and a sufficient fuel system to feed the improved airflow. Do some testing to find the weak points in your system and fix them. When your engine does go, replace it with a type II or better.

I didn't read all the post so I'm not sure if anyone covered it, but the new engine in the 2001 CL/CL-S and the 99+ TL/TL-S is NOT even close to the Legend 3.2 engine. For one, it is based on the J series engine found on the 3.0 98+ Accord. It is a totally differernt design, and it sits transmounted not longitudinal like the Legend. While anything is posible, like putting the Small block V8 in the Miata, putting a J32 3.2 CL-S engine in place of the C32A1 Legend engine will be a totally custom job.

Everyone seems to be familiar of the engine block codes for all these cars except for me. How do most of you guys know all this? Is there a specific page that has a database of these? I know it's on the side of the block. I hate feeling like a newbie:( :(
