ok. i installed a line level conerter, 900 watt amp and 1 12" 800 watt sub using 4g cable in my 93 sedan ls. whenever i turn my car or factory headunit off, i get this surge of bass only thru my sub. if i turn my amp down i dont get it but if i have it set to about 3/4 of its power where i like my bass, this annoying and embarrassing surge of power runs thru my sub. is there any way of stopping this?? my ground is good on my amp. should i get a ground loop isolater?? am i the only one with this problem??

wow... thanks for the help.... i bought a 10 dollar ground loop isolator and it solved my problem... thanks...

hey, try lowering the bass in the headunit and if u can decrease the sensativiy, lower tat too

I fixed it with a ground loop isolator-- but mine didnt make a popping noise, it was like a crescendo of bass.
