First (and probably) only flaw about our cars

Hello All,

Yes, I have, found the one and probably ONLY design flaw with my Legend. This is the arm rest cubby. Now, to my understanding all Legends came standard with a tape player, and where do I always keep my tapes, in the Arm Rest Cubby. Now, I put in my favorite tape, to see, all the treble is gone! The reason for this is because of the Magnets which help shut the cubby. Now any suggestions how I could go around this?

Thanks and Regards,

Neil

One more reason to upgrade to a CD player, its the new millenium partner play your tapes in the house.
HAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!! Even me doesnt use the tape I use cd-changer I my trunk!! You want my cd deck? Nakamichi cd45z
take my advice you rather listen to the radio then a tape trust me
No more tapes. I thought people stopped using tapes overall but I guess I was wrong. Try to upgrade to cd's because you get better sound quality.
The other flaw with the middle arm rest is with the cup holder. Never, I repeat NEVER open the arm rest when you have a drink in the cup holder = not good.
I never used my tape deck in my Legend since I owned it!

In fact recently my Legend is being garaged and I am driving an old 89 Camry, with a tape deck. So I decided to pull out all my old tapes... Let's see, Vanilla Ice, Michael Jackson, Pump Up the Jam, Guns and Roses, C&C Music Factory, Def Leopard,... The newest tape I own is Guns N Roses, Use Your Illusion (Uhh, the yellow one, I think it's 1). The stuff I listened to in High school... hang my head in shame sometimes, LOL..

This has got to be the best damm advice ever. Practice caution people. :)
Hahah True

Dudes yall are true, I should get a changer, I mean I have like 3 Burners in the house anyways lol. I dunno, Its just all the Changers that I have seen are about 150 USD, used, So I don't know if I am in the market at that kind of price. But seriously, there must be some people using tapes in their Acura, seriously, do you think it would be a bad idea not having the Arm Rest DESTROYIN it! Anyways, to yall have any TIPS? :-D jk

Cheers

Cheers
i feel your pain

ah, but what of those great compilation tapes from so long ago? for those of us that (occassionally) like to live in nostalgia, may i suggest taking the magenet out? (i didn't do this (only have 3 tapes), but it makes sense to me...)
Ok ok do this, simply go and buy a case logic for tapes, check your mom and pop record stores or your friendly neighborhood flea market. I wouldn't take the magnet out, you'll be hearing that sucker rattle over bumps.
Talk about the new millenium, why dont you look into satellite radio (XM or Siruis)! From what I hear from friends that have it, there's been nothing but good reviews.

Now you can ditch your tapes AND your cds, use that armrest for items immune to the effects of magnetism, and enjoy sound quality which could never be judged on the same scale as that of tapes.

Yeah, it's like $10/mo. Can you hack it? I just spent nearly that the other day when I was at the mall and I got a plate and a drink from Master Wok :p . The problem is, Eclipse has yet to buy into one of these companies, so I sit here and wait....
8 track baby!!!!!

Al Green,Ohio Players,Herby Hancock, etc..., all on 8 track. Just watch and see, 8 track will make a come back.

:D

I feel ya Neil.......forget all those playa haters who don't still use tapes! hahahaha My Luther tape was ruined the same way. I only had that one in the car though and I replaced it with the CD version.

My suggestion would be velcro. Stick some on each spot where the magnets would be. This would allow you to close it securely without the hassle of hearing it rattle as you drive along.

Cake Daddy, I feel you on the 8-track. I had one in my 84 Honda Accord....STOCK, and drove with it in there until I finally gave the car to my little sister in 2000. Had tapes for it too! hahahaha

91 L Coupe gotta love it baby. I had tapes so many tapes in the armrest that it was propped up and my arm was always on a slant. I had a Changer it my other car. With the tape player though, I'm breakin out the classic Tribe called Quest, BDP, D-Nice, Brand Nubian, Ice-T, Kool G-Rap, and Especially Ice Cube. Love it. But for Cd's of course, portable CD player with the tape adapter

neil4speed, I brought my alpine changer brand new for about 350 CND including the adaptor. Its pretty simple to install.
Someone is selling his stock CD changer at the other forum if you're looking.
