Why is it that sometimes when I down shift, the stick wont go into gear unless I pump the gas a bit?? 6th to 5th, I have to keep the gas up a bit or it wont go in.... there is some sort of hard point that prevents me from going into gear.

I have noticed that all the other gears are like this too, but not as bad.

Its almost like it sucks it into gear when I step on the gas a bit, but it puts up a fight with me when I dont do that...

Is it just me, my car, my tranny, my clutch??? or what...

ANy insight into this, or is it normal.... car has 122 000 km on it (~70k miles?).

I know what your talking about because I had similar problems. I just change my clutch and so far it's been fine. Going into first gear is sometimes a problem as you had indicated, but much better than before. It was frustrating not being able to switch when you wanted. I noticed that my slave cylinder seems to be leaking a little when changing the clutch. It's not bad so maybe this is another problem or the syncros are worn out. I will change my slave cylinder probably next year or when it's starts to leak bad. I'll keep you posted if that makes a difference.

I have a 5spd, and when putting it in 1st gear at a dead stop, stoplight, etc., I have to ease off the clutch a little to get it to go into gear sometimes..........happen in reverse too, but otherwise it is fine once I'm rolling. No grinding or anything in any gear.
