I was in the skool parking lot and I think some jerk off backed into me, now my plate hangs by one bracket, like a crooked picture. I'm just going to take it off altogether for now, but have no clue how. And I gotta drive out to long island today, and I'm afraid that it will fall off on the highway, can anyone help? Take it off and leave it off. Front plates are ugly. Cops here usually won't bust you for it, in fact I don't think they notice. I don't know how it is there, but here it is worth the risk to not have the thing on there.

Ya, i really had no clue how to take it off, but I noticed that there were massive amounts of dirt covering the lug nuts, so I just unscrewed and threw the plate in my trunk

I completely misread your question. I thought you were asking how to put it back on, not how to take it off. Oops. Anyway, now that you got it off, you should leave it off.

yeah, in some states the cops don't care. Some states like PA only give you one plate. But there are states that the cops wake up in the morning and run to their windows because they think they "heard" a car drive by without a front tag. Sometimes they're STUPID!!!
