Also how does the wiring for this thing work out? Do you plug it into the same wire that feeds the 3rd brake light?

yes you plug it into the 3rd brake light but you light will go on and give a signal that your brake light is out because its led for the trunk lite

I just got one of these at a junkyard.
I can say from experience that you would probably NOT want to ship this as it's extremely cumbersome to deal with.

Local sale would be your best bet.
