Due to decisions made by AutoGuide.com, this site has ceased to be about the car, the people, and the community and has now turned into a commercial, corporate money grab.

That is not what I signed up for back in 2003. I am about connecting with like-minded individuals that share the same passion and commitment to the Legend.

I refuse to enforce AutoGuide's rules, and no longer can I participate here while they rape what was once a great community-based forum.

I am leaving to the new site and I am taking all of my contributions with me. They do not belong to you they are NOT your intellectual property per your TOS (a screen shot can and will be provided if needed). They belong to ME, the original author. And as the original author, I am hereby publicly stating that YOU DO NOT HAVE MY PERMISSION to go into your cache and restore my old threads and/or contributions.

Maybe someday I'll return...when the traffic here has died to nothing and you abandon the URL...but I will only return when this forum is no longer owned by you or any of your cronies.

It's been a great ride guys...see you on the other side.

One thing I would like to add is in the FUEL PUMP section. You may only use a fuel pump from a 1988 NOVA if it has the 1.6L Twin Cam engine! That is all!

ok i got a big problem but i cant figure out what it is but assume its something to do with the tranny. my car wont move in drive or 2nd i have to start it off in first then go to second then drive and its fine but once i stop it slips right out of the gear again. and when i put it in park it rolls.and sometimes when i put it in park it makes a grinding noise. i have tranny fluid its not dark or burnt.does anyone have any ideas what this can be ?????

Now that sounds like a bad CV axle. If I remember right the G1 auto trannies lock-up the differential when you shift them into 1st. This would allow it to move the car using the axle that is still good. What clued me in on the axles is the fact that it is grinding when shifted to park it grinds and still rolls. The grinding means that the final drive is still spinning when the car is shifted into park! I would seriously check those CV axles. Have someone get in the car, hold the brake and shift it into drive while you look at the axles to see if either one is spinning freely.

adjust your shift linkage, its its off you car wont be in the gear it says or half way between gears
Alternator:
90-93 honda accord will not fit... *mod edit*

and a note on those plug wires as far as i'm aware the v6 accords in the US only came in 95 and newer.

and i saw awhile ago were people were grabbing the manuel tranny from a legend and putting it into an accord v6... so that tells me that tranny's are interchangable between the two.

lastly i had a flywheel from an f22a1 and it bolts directly to the c27..but the c27 had a flexplate so i'm not sure if the two are compatible, but the bolt pattern is the same.
apparently these 70amp denso alternators are VERY common especially in smaller toyotas... again the pulleys may be different but they should be easy to find on just about any smaller japanese car in the wrecker...

question: anyone know if the corner lights/ turn signals from a 90-91 accord or a 92-93 accord are compatible with the legend? they look similar... and what about mirrors?
ive found accord m3 style mirrors and accord jdm clear corners...
thanks

nope, lenses and lights are only compatable with other legends. the accords mount differently and are angled different. the wont align flush with your fenders, bumpers, or hoods. I think the only thing you can see from outside the car thats compatable with anything besides a legend is possibly the power antenna but besides that there is absolutly nothing. I dont believe there is anything compatable with anything on the interior either unless you want to do a cigarette lighter swap like me :)

When it gets warmer outside and i feel like screwin around in the junk yard i'll try swapping some things from other cars into some junk legends like seats and possibly a dash.
what about suspension parts. theres got to be a coilover system that is interchangable with the G1
i just ask because i can only find kyb gr2 and tokico blues for my 88 coupe
From a PM exchange I had last year with Badjack10:
"95-97 Accord V-6 coil-overs. The V-6 coil-overs for the Accord are the closest you are gonna get to the right spring rate."

You can fit any rate you want if you go with Eibach ERS springs or equivalent. They come in various diameters and heights as well as rates.

As far as particular coil-over kits, all I can offer is to measure your shock body and ask vendors/sellers to provide sleeve I.D.
are you talking about sleeve kits or full coilovers. Im looking for something from tein or k-sport that will bolt up to my car
also if anyone know what other car has the same shifter bushings that would help alot also
he if anyone is still having trouble finding parts go to the csk autoparts website.
just enter your car in there and look for the part you want. then when you select the part you need, right below it will be a link that says "list of other applications this part fits" or something like that. If im theyre right you can get a big brake for a 90 91 civic and bolt on to a G1. They dont show an interchangeable shock or spring unfortunatly, but its worth checking out.
Does anyone know what alternators will fit an '89 Legend LS Coupe. I am looking for an aftermarket one because of my stereo system and I want to know any ones that might fit or any website that would sell them. thanks
what alternators fit? like i just said a few posts up the "typical denso units"... if you already have yours just goto a GOOD auto electric shop and ask them to rebuild it for you. if you want it beefed up a good shop can do that easy... ask for another 10+ amps maybe.. shouldnt cost much more than normal rebuild.

also any alternator shop will have a dozen of the denso type alternators on their shelf to sell...

or if you want goto a junk yard... look for the same alternator in some older japanese car, im guessing at least a third of them will use it, get it rebuilt and match the pully.
how well do accord wires fit?
msd makes a set of 8.5mm wires for a great price!!!

Alternator:
90-93 honda accord. You'll have to change the pulley, but everything is good.
will this fit in place of an 89 legend alternator with a change in the pulley, and if so how hard would it be to change the pulley and could a shop do it for me?

http://verizonsupersite.com/4alters...esearch.nhtml?query=honda accord&catuid=10013

I really need a beefier alternator for my stereo, thinking about adding a battery next to my amps in the trunk figured the alternator might help also.
more important is the battery.
what is the reserve time on it?
im sure you know you need a battery isolator for a second battery, but incase you didnt you need one :D
its easy to change the pully/rebuild if you have an impact wrench.
an auto-electric shop can do it very easily.
for the price of a rebuild they can upgrade the amperage.
look to spend $80 usd or so
make sure you get a warrenty... if you have a serious stereo it will blow stock alternators left right and centre and you want them do rebuild it for free if it dies :)
if you are just changing the pully get new bearings at the same time, which the auto electric shop WILL have in stock... also do the brushes and voltage regulator while you are at it.
