Yeah. We had to wait until the crowds cleared out (sunset as you can see by the pic) to be able to line everyone up.
There's actually signs in that parking lot prohibiting parking for anyone not with a boat trailer, but we did it anyway. :giggle:
We got kicked out of a mini-mart parking lot in the heart of Alki by the store owner (guy was a total A-hole -- called the cops).

There's a couple of parking lots towards the back, by the big hill, that don't usually get crowded -- not very many people know they are there.

where IS that launch?
It's halfway between the south end of Alki and Salty's restaurant (near the diver's pier).

count me out. tried to fix my BHG with a friend today, couldn't get the intake manafold off for some stupid reason. put the car together again but because the manafold is now badly seated on it's original gasket the car can't idle, dosen't maintain proper air/fuel ratio, is vastly underpowered. and i have the dreaded check engine light.

it's a shame, maybe next time.

I'm just throwing this out there, It sounds like we are going to have a great turnout 20+ cars. It sounds like the plan is to meet at UW at 1:00 pm, then decide were we want to go. Once we decide, we will be trying to follow the leader to were we are going, and with traffic and red lights that doesn't work to well,we end up losing cars, and I don't think thats what we want to do. From being in a Mitsubishi 3000GT Car Club, I found that having a game plan will make things go much smoother and more enjoyable for everybody, not everybody is from the Seattle area. Meaning, if we plan ahead we can get maps or at least directions to the places we will be going, that way If we do get seperated which is more than likely, people can still hopefully find and meet up with us . Having Cell phones or two way radios is a plus also.

Dicks was mentioned for getting our grub on, Dicks is usually pretty packed with people, also the parking lot isn't very big, and with other cars there and all of us, I don't think we will fit. I think we need to find a different place for getting our grub on, one that has more parking.

We also need to figure out were we want to cruise to so we can show off our cars. So people that live in Seattle or anybody try to think of some places to eat at and some places to cruise to. I know several people have given some suggestions, we can get some places to eat at, and to cruise to, and vote on them, just my 2Cents =(;>0)

Ps: I was reading about San Franciscos meet, and they had 20+ cars awesome, sounds like they all had a blast, and the people that didn't go wish they would have gone. I want ours to be like that or better yet, better than theres, with more cars. If you haven't read about it, check it out, some good pictures to.

I see the new management has decided to ignore the hundreds of Import Racerz that used to show up.

Used to go every weekend........

North Aurora is always a good cruise (Montlake Terrace north thru Lynnwood to Everett area) ....plus there's literally hundreds of places to eat, park (dozens of strip malls), showoff, get into trouble (not too hard with the Lynnwood cops) :D etc, etc.

Easy to get to from the U, too. But the cruise is usually only on later at night, and probly not too much going on Sundays, but that's gonna be true for anyplace. Should pick a Friday or Saturday next time.

kennyG and Magic coupe sounds like a plane...
Definetly we have to plan ahead and decide where and when of our activities....

1. we have this: meet at South UW parking lot at 1 PM on the 7th.

Now..since we are meeting at 1pm....and we want to check out other pple Legend and mods and talk (est 2 hrs) ....then on to somplece to eat (est 1 hr) ....then hopefully to the seattle or Bellevue dealer(est 1 hr).....then one last place to take pic of all the cars(est 45mins) (so i can print big and frame it :giggle: )

2. STill have to set a place to eat..(seattle is not my frontyard:( )
3. which dealer ...seattle or bellevue?
4. A place to have all our Legends lined up and take a nice pics (this should be done between3-5 pm...since sundown is around 5-6 pm).
Picture taking can also be taken at the decided place before going to the dealer.
5. Finally some pple might like to stay hit the bars or whatever~

So all the people in seatttle and Bellevue area ..come up with a plan and im sure guy like me who is not familiar ....we'll just follow the plan. :)

3. Bellevue dealer is only 15 min. from UofW (cross 520 bridge), where you'll fight downtown Seattle traffic on I-5 (parking lot) getting to Acura of Seattle (near Southcenter) which WILL take an hour or more.
IMO if you wanted to go to Acura of Seattle we should be meeting at/near Southcenter.

4. For pics could go into Kirkland by Lake Washington (10 min. from Bellevue dealer) or Marymoor Park in Redmond (5 min. from Bellevue dealer with tons of parking). There's lots of places to go in Bellevue, Redmond and Kirkland for eats, partying, cruising, more gathering, etc.

Once in Bellevue/Kirkland area I-405 is also available to go down to Renton/Kent area, or whatever.

I'm not trying to drive opinion on this, just making suggs.

Yeah I went to a couple of those 2-3 years back. They were called Import Mix. It was $10 to race all night. It was awesome.

The only thing I noticed when I went to Acura of Bellevue is that they don't have a large parking lot. I'm not sure how we could get all of our cars through there.
Acura of Seattle has a much bigger parking area, and it is right across the street from South Center Mall.

Then why don't we meet at Southcenter somewhere?? More central for everyone, too. Hundreds of parking lots to group up.

Changing the location now is NOT a good idea. There are members that don't visit the forum very much, and they are set to go to Husky Stadium on the 7th-that's where it should stay.

Everyone is bringing up good ideas, but I think it's a little late to be changing things around. I think we should keep it how it is now and then use some of these ideas in the future.

LETS KEEP THE MEETING PLACE (UW PARKING LOT 1 PM) AS PLANNED~ We do not want to cause confusion.

smth_hckr --Good point~ the Manager(Bellevue Dealer) might not take kindly to our unexpected visit and taking up what little parking lot they have and not to mention by so doing disturbing the Sunday business. (Even though all the Salesmen would get a kick seeing us):giggle:

KennyG --Definetly on our next meet lets meet up at SouthCenter....Like you said, hundreds of parking spacex, alot of eating places and its a central location for all of us....(Dude~ why did you not mention this earlieR?~...ok your grounded :giggle: :D

SO HOW IS THIS~~

1. Meet at planned....uw parking 1 pm, 7th
2. hang, bs, and take some pics...while the late turtles show up (est 2hrs). ( we can just take the pics at UW parking instead of trying to come up with a nice place.....we can do this on next meet.....this will better us in preparation for the late Spring or Summer Meet.
3. we all posse on down to the SouthCenter parking lot to EAT.
This is idea because ...alot of eating places, parking lot issue and because Acura of seattle is accross the street from SouthCenter stated by KennyG.
4. After eating....Visit the SEattle of Acura across the street.
5. disperse( or for pple who wants to take a one nice pic of all the Legend together...we can go to someplace if the sun is still up and not dark.)

By suggeting above..i have omitted the suggestion to go to someplace to take a nice pic......we can do this if we have time at the SouthCenter mall after the Acura Dealer visit or put off and better plane for next meet.

By all means....my writings are suggestions and opinions...pls do not think im trying to pull or push ..ok......Seattle guy know seattle so they should take the lead in deciding where and places....so i think....but its good that seattle guys like KennyG and Smth_hckr is pointing out valid ideas and points.....lets face it, without some leadership this meet will be not successful.

Lastly.....i feel like Chistmas is coming all over...hehe:D

Dont forget cameras and camcorders~:p

Okay, so NO changing the location....but i do agree that going to Southcenter IS a good idea...that way the people that DONT know how to get to the UW can meet up down at the mall and so we can grab something to eat.

A DEFINITE NO on the Acura of Bellevue situation...i was at the dealership yesterday (sunday) and they seemed pretty busy for a sunday (the TINY TINY parking lot doesnt help either).

This is going to be a REALLY great meet guyz...better start cleanin', buffin' and waxin'!!!! :D :D :D

I'd agree about Ack of Bellevue. small parking lot, no easy in/out access.

Just want to make sure everyone's on the same page....

we're meeting first, at the UW parking lot, at 1pm. I think that's the most important part of the meet, because people will be in/out from there. that's our picture op, and our biggest head count. That particular parking lot is gi-normous, and relatively easy to find.

it won't be easy to caravan to ANYWHERE around seattle without getting separated at times. The best solution would be to know where we're going after meeting at UW - so we could have pre-printed maps. in reality, if we don't get that sorted out, cell phones should work adequately enough, considering there should be several people there who know their way around the area quiet well. (myself included.)

The last UW meet, we rolled up to the lake city Dick's, because of better parking than the Dick's on 45th. From there, we rolled to Marymoor park in Redmond, which was cool, but i personally don't want an exact repeat of that meet. you can never go back...

i think picking a 'fast food' spot is best, (vs. sit down - red robin etc) cuz not everyone gets something to eat, and generally people end up standing around the cars anyway. Dicks, Burgermaster, Kidd Valey? something with a decent parking lot, with a crowd around to peep the beautiful cars! :D

a 3rd location could be picked either for the 'cruz' there, or for a scenic picture op... but as was said before. where ever the crowd goes, i'll go.

SUNSHINE!

:werd: Depending on timing and such, certain people (including myself) may just go home after that. That's the location for the meet, if certain people want to go somewhere after, that's fine, but I know not everybody wants to.

PS: I just washed my Legend. :D (I'l probably wash/wax again before the meet though.)
