I am getting a new custom exhaust system installed tommorow, with a glass pack for a muffler. The guy at the shop says that he could sell me a high performance exhaust, but the performance upgrade would be marginal. Any comments on this, is the custom muffler any better? How reliable is the glass pack?

Thanks all for you input and your help.

And....clutch is about to be paid off, time to get sound system, some rims and tires, and a cold air intake. (yeah, it'll take awhile, I know)

I busted my exhaust yesterday doing an insane burnout, had to stop because I didn't want to destroy my car (its never really been pushed to hard, it used to be driven by an old guy), but I swear, I could have done the thing for over a minute.

How did you bust your exhaust while doing a burnout?
I don't like glass packs personally, too ricey for me. A custom muffler would be better performance wise and rice wise, but probably more expensive too.
If you do burnouts regularly, you're probably going to have to buy a new clutch again soon.

i've never heard one on a legend but i don't think it'd sound as good as other mufflers

u can get a flowmaster 40 series for $55 on ebay, they sound awesome with our engines, nice deep rumble

Funny.

On my previous legend (1988 Legend Sedan... 2.7), we slapped a glasspack and resonator on it. It didn't look ricey since we painted the glass pack black and hit it pretty well, but man did it sound pretty nice. I like the way my current legend sounds, or rather the lack of how it sounds (really quiet muffler on it, you can barely even hear anything out of it. All you can really hear is the engine itself), but a Legend with a glass pack sounds awefully deep. :)
