Hi guys,

Thanks to your inputs, I finally decided to buy KYB shocks for my 90 Sedan. Where is good place to buy and install them? I know shox.com and tirerack.com are nice and cheap place, but I want to buy them at the same shop which would install them if the price is reasonable. I'm in Atlanta, so plz recommend one for me. Thanks.

PS 1. Do I have to change mounts and bushing?
2. Do I have to buy shock boots? It looks nice, but kind of expensive considering the shock price.

1. No and no
2. The fronts have no dust boots and I don't remember if the rear have any off hand. But if it does, they're just gonna transfer everything over except for some washers (sits on top of the bump stop) and the locking nut for the hat.

Rick,

Creaking sound from the rear suspension, and dealer said my rear shocks are bad and cause the problem. That's why I wanna change whole shocks. BTW dealer quoted me about 560 bucks for replacing only rear shocks...almost 600 including tax

Just FYI:
Rears are VERY easy to change. If you know which way loosens a bolt, you can change them out yourself. Est time: 1 hour for both

The front struts require a spring compressor that you can "borrow" from a local autozone for free. Est time: 4 hours for both.

$600 is WAY too much. Verging on price gouging and ending up in a Complaint to the BBB (IMHO)

That's me too - creaking in the rear. I hear it all the time and even heard it the other day when i sat on the back seat.

Acctually he will need a spring compressor for the rear because in 89-90, the sedans took on the coupe rear coil over shock style suspension setup.
Good catch!... sorry man, no misleading intentional.

I have one of those old '88 rears... :D

After putting after-market performance springs, do you guys think the coupe suspension is any better on the 89-90 sedans the original 87-88 sedan suspension? Just curious...

being in the middle of Arkansas, I havn't had the pleasure of getting together with other legend folks, so all I have to base my opinion on is my '88 sedan. I'm running iNtrax/KYB and love them. I bottom out every once in awhile(i have 250+lbs of audio), but it rides great on the freeway. I still have to swap out my swaybar bushings, and that'll help a little, and I plan on installing some urathane suspension limiters to help soften the thunk.... :D
