This is the most unbelievable Legend story in the world. But it's real and I am still pissed and there is a gopher out there with a death wish.

Monday morning I had a minor problem with my car and rather then troubleshoot it I took a backup car to my apartment (my Legend was at my parents house). My father managed to locate and fix the problem while I was at my place for the week. He even took the car to work for a day.

So here it is, Friday evening. I left work early so I could finish detailing my car for Carlisle on Saturday. I get in my car after a week of longing for her and put her in drive to get her into the garage. An odd sensation in the tranny was felt and D4 starts blinking. Slighty agitated i check the forums here for D4 blinking topics. Speed sensors, nope, not my problem. Get the shop manual out, start jumping connectors, checking connections with a meter and such. Finally jack up the car to get to the selonoid connector on the transmission so I can check if the resistence is within spec. As I pull myself under the car I see the connector. I look up at the other end leading into the engine bay and what beholds my eyes. The wire, bare wire showing, green wire cut in two, eatten through and teethmarks all around the area. PSA mentioned to me some months back gophers eat/knaw the undercoatings on cars. I washed my engine on Saturday. Some cleaner must have got on the wire and attracted a gopher...

A GOPHER ATE MY TRANSMISSION WIRE HARNESS!!!!! HOLY CRAP!!!! THIS IS SO UNBELIEVABLE... after a fit of rage and some foul language I couldn't help but laugh at the whole situation...

damn nick, that sucks, lol, it's also funny at the same time, you should get something poisionous/really nasty tasting and coat it in that cleaner that you soaked the tranny wire in. That way the gopher will get whats comin to it for eatin things that it shouldn't :)

Well, I got all the wires soldiered back up, 3 wires in all were chewed through. I taped everything up. Time to finish detailing the interior and hopefully I can get out tonight :)

Weird, I don't know if it was a gopher or a mouse, but one day I notice on my new babe that the right front side marker was out. I didn't pay much attention thinking it was a blown bulb. At any rate, I'm installing my HIDs and removed my corner lenses to clean and resurface them and when I pulled the left side out the wires came out with it!! I was like WTF?! And I looked in the engine bay, I see teeth marks eaten through the wire harness of the left marker and eaten through the protective sleeve of the headlight. I was like ****!! So I hooked the wires back up and taped all the parts, no one would know, but that was an experience I can laugh about. Hehehe at least it wasn't a main harness!! :D --=Keith
