This is the most unbelievable Legend story in the world. But it's real and I am still pissed and there is a gopher out there with a death wish.
Monday morning I had a minor problem with my car and rather then troubleshoot it I took a backup car to my apartment (my Legend was at my parents house). My father managed to locate and fix the problem while I was at my place for the week. He even took the car to work for a day.
So here it is, Friday evening. I left work early so I could finish detailing my car for Carlisle on Saturday. I get in my car after a week of longing for her and put her in drive to get her into the garage. An odd sensation in the tranny was felt and D4 starts blinking. Slighty agitated i check the forums here for D4 blinking topics. Speed sensors, nope, not my problem. Get the shop manual out, start jumping connectors, checking connections with a meter and such. Finally jack up the car to get to the selonoid connector on the transmission so I can check if the resistence is within spec. As I pull myself under the car I see the connector. I look up at the other end leading into the engine bay and what beholds my eyes. The wire, bare wire showing, green wire cut in two, eatten through and teethmarks all around the area. PSA mentioned to me some months back gophers eat/knaw the undercoatings on cars. I washed my engine on Saturday. Some cleaner must have got on the wire and attracted a gopher...
