I've read a couple of post that reference specs on legends that aren't even close to what the legend i own.
Now im not a 'reputable car magazine' but i own a legend & has had much track experience racing my legend.
Here's my facts per GTECH & Sacramento raceway
88 Legend Sedan 5 Speed
Mods: Cone Filter Mounted Directly on throttle body.(K&N knockoff); B&M Fuel Pressure regulator set @ 35PSI (Stock PSI)
Weight: 2995lbs (w<2gallons of gas in tank) @ Sacramento Raceway scale
0-60: 7.75seconds (As per GTECH tonite)
Fastest 1/4mi: 15.665 @ 88mph (Sacramento Raceway 2001)
1/4 mi Average (Stock) 15.8-15.9 Car is EXTREMELY consistent.
Optimum Shift Points (Per My 5 speed)
1st: 6400
2nd:6400
3rd: 6200
4th: 6400
Ive tried every combination from holding third till 6700 to shifting @ redline in 3rd. this is the fastest i can get my legend through the traps. If anyone can shed more light into getting a better E.T. I'm all ears, but i realize that not all racers want to share secrets with all & to those i respect ya.
I think my legend has acheived as much as it will ever with the mods it has now, I suppose i could throw an exhast on it, which may lower my E.T. 2/10ths. I do have new rubbers on my car for this season, so i should be able to launch at a higher RPM.
In seeing Dv8 & what his knife edging the throttle body has done, i am considering widening the throttle body while retaining the stock butterfly.
ohhh yeah. NOS is going in by June, but I'll be running a conservative 60 shot.
