Guess What Old Car

Hey guys since I have broadband and I have figured out how to post pictures I thought I would share with you a car which I paid AU$400 for. It is really good. Not very fast though

Maybe a top speed of about 65Miles. It has a 945 CC engine which produces about 23 Kw or 10HP. It is so groovy.

I was just wondering if any of you could guess what it is? I know what it is

. But not many other people do or they get it confused with other cars. Let me knwo what you think.

My first guess was going to be Studebaker, but its too compact and the body lines are a little off.

It was a bit mean of me doing this to you guys, I don't even think you guys got these cars there. Plus it was made 47 years ago.
Mike Diaz you are the closest, that is what everybody thinks it is. By the way how did you know that it might be a Morris Minor, did you guys even get that car over there?

Anyway I have said what it is in another thread so I had better let you guys know. It is a 1958 Standard 10. Made by the British Motor Company (BMC) it has a 948 CC inline 4 Cylinder engine, 2 valves per cylinder, with over head valves. It is a '10' because it is 10 horsepower which I believe is equivelant to about 23 Kw (For those of you who are Australian). It has a top speed of somewher between 65 and 70. It os pretty groovy. Just thought you guys might like to see it anyway.

My grandfather was here, and he lived in Brittain for a few years when he was younger. I showed him the picture and he said one of his friends over there had the exact same car. :2cool:

Yeah I imagine they were pretty popular in Britain. They are such a good car to just go down the street or visit someone. And yes it gets GREAT fuel economy. It only has a 30 litre tank (Less than half the size of the Legend) and I can do so many Miles. I reckon I could get about 300 Miles of a tank. But I don't drive it too much. I filled it up over 4 weels ago and it still has 3/4 left in it.
