Could you guys share how do you hook up your cell phones in your cars.

Ideally I'm looking for something that will plug right into my radio but I can't find anything like that on the market.

Second choice would be something with a separate speaker but it would be nice to be able to mute your radio unit when the phone rings. I know that Bose systems and many others have an input for muting when the phone rings.

Third choice is just a regular bracket that will hold the phone in place somewhere in my view and not in my way. Currently there is no place to put it

Please share your ideas and/or pictures.

Guess Ill break the silence

Two step process. First, go out and get yourself a car magnet mount for your phone. I work for a wireless company and we sell three piece kit packages that include them but not by themselves. I can imagine that you would find one at an online store of some sort. The magnets are strong and the metal bracket is just a flat piece that could possible slide underneath your battery cover.

As far as getting the speakerphone adaptation, theres an inexpensive way (60 dollar fix or so) and then theres another way which is gonna feel like youre getting up the *** with a broomstick wrapped in sandpaper.

The cheap method is buying one of those products that have the speaker built into a cigarette lighter adapter. Instant handsfree operation and they sound good as long as you get one with a decent-sized speaker. Dont get a two-in-one kit where it has a speaker and a cellphone mount built in because people always complain about sound quality and volume.

Thetake it up the ** method is to buy an Eclipse head unit with the cellphone control. It auto-mutes and... well, thats all I know about it. How do I know? Because I've had two relatively expensive units and they both had wires labelled "cellphone" or something to that effect. How do they work? Hah! You're on your own. How's the sound quality? I imagine pretty good! How much do you want to spend???

Thanks a lot for your reply. I've seen one of those magnets and I was actually thinking about getting one from Brookstone. They hold OK, but that means I'll have to glue it to something and damage the interior of my car.

Do you know any brands of that magnet product so that i can look it up somewhere?

I actually used to have an eclipse unit (until it got stolen) and it did have that mute control but again, the challenge is to figure out how to hook it up to a particular phone.
