i found somthing a little interesting while tearing down a c27a, its not headers but should give you better flow.. If you look at the inside of the front stock header its significantly less exhaust flow inside due to the fact there is a seperate chamber inside for the EGR and AIV, i'd say just by looking atleast 20% smaller, I guess this is why Honda made the back header take a more restricted path to the exhaust pipe to make up for this difference. You should be able to throw pick another one up at a junk yard and throw it on the front after disabling the EGR and AIV and run a Y pipe between the 2 to equal out the flow. Also replace all the exhaust piping, its alot smaller on the inside than it looks from the outside, its triple layered.

hmm.. interesting.. so.. your also saying that with a new exhuast system I can also achieve better flow?? Logical... How much gain approximately??

nope, havent done it yet, just finally got my engine back together and running today, it took a while since its been so cold and raining here latley... ill be getting the manifold in about a week, but im not putting it on untill i get some more funds for all the precat piping. it should definetley work though, i'd say atleast 5hp maybe 20 considering how restricted ours is but who knows? i'm pretty sure it will help out more than a expensive catback system. i'm not getting it dyno'd or anything so just crawl under your car and take a look at what i'm talking about and you'll have a good idea of whats going on.

just remember, i think you gota do custom piping to do this, i dont think the rear exhaust manifold will line up with the front ones pipe, i think the rear one is a bit shorter but i havent really compared them, i just know it will fit the head.

everything should work out fine, the only thing is making sure both down pipes have the same resistance to keep her idling smooth

I have just been thinking about the heads. If you take the head off the back and put it on the front won't it be back to front? BEcause your exhaust outlet is going to be back to front. Also if you turn it around then the pulley of rthe cam is on the wrong side.

Why does everyone want to go turbo? If that is your plan you purchased the wrong car! This IS a luxuray car if you want to turbo an acura go with an integra they have premade kits for cheap and you can make more horse.

Yeah but its totaly unexpected when a luxury car can smoke ricers at the lights. and once you have a taste of power from the legned you will always want more, because it feels so good to drive.

Amen to that one Jarryd...also, we had a turbo version in Japan and someone here from Down Under mentioned that the "Exclusive" Legends over there had not only turbo versions, but also things like rear A/C vents, rear cup holders in the arm rest, and some other stuff I cant remember....so the USDM Legends have MINOR luxury when compared to some of the stuff offered in other parts of the world.

And dude theres seriously nothing wrong with a High powered luxury ride (ala 7 series and S class AMG). In fact for the day (1986) 151 Horsies was pretty up there when compared to other stuff on the road at the time (id say average was from 98hp-130hp for the era)

yeah see ricers never race me when i drive the porsche (gold car behind the legend) But in the legend you can be in full luxury and have just enough power to smoke poeple at the lights. thats all i need. also if they didnt want me to enjoy the car so much they wouldnt of given the legend such a powerful engine.

have you heard of turbo lag it will make you slower off the line and there are some civics and integs round my way that will smoke most cars on this forum
Your right you will get turbo lag. but a smaller turbo should fix that problem :D

I've been working on a twin turbo legend, the only way to fit a turbo under the rear bank is to cut the rear subframe, I don't want to do that. and as for headers, there is nothing out there and customs aren't worth it. Now if you change the down pipes, that will make a diff. I made mine 1 7/8" going into a 3" collector down to a 2 1/2" all the way back!
