Hella Micro DE Fog Lights

Before I shell out the $138 for these fog lights I want to know some things. I have a '91 Sedan and want to know how these things are mounted or yet how they get to being mounted. Is there a separate kit I need to buy to "make them stay attached?" Or do they just screw in? If anyone could post the site I get the "correct" ones from that would be great!

How hard/expensive is it going to be to put in yellow lights? I know there is an installation thread, however is there going ot be a switch I use to turn them on or do they automatically come on with my headlights? Any info you guys can give would be MUCH appreciated. I know you all probably get this thread a lot but please help a fellow Legender out! Thank you!

Most hella de I've seen are for 94/95 and they are round like the 94/95 oem fogs but 91-93 are rectangle and I know for sure they don't make the correct bracket or trim pc to make it fit in the 91-93 to make it look oem!
Any ideas on what would fit/ look right in a '91? I was super excited to get some fogs.
They came with the rectangle style light's but if you want to go round you can. (some fab work would just need to be done.)

there a guy who had some he found on ebay and they look almost oem but thats about it i think his user name is whitelegend
Bosch makes rectangle size fogs, next time I come across them I will post links and since I know there's demand.

I will start pulling them when I hit the JY.
So I have been looking online for some Bosch fog kits and they are rectangular, however the bumper is rounded where the fog lights would go so mounting would still be a hassle. How hard is mounting the Micro Des and rectangulars? I thank you all for the information you've given me!
You are going to have to use a dremel tool to cut and shape the opening of where you want to install the fog light. You will also have to modify the mounting points of the light.

I have a 95 Ka7 and a 95 Ka8 - this is a picture of it after modifying the fog light area to fit the Micro De's.

FYI there are fogs that are better and smaller than Micro DE's. The matchbox fogs are bixenon which means you'd also have a high beam. TRS/ the retrofit source is about to start stocking them again.

I might get a pair.
Hey Al, that is exactly what I would want it to look like! What are the brackets you used to hold the fog light? I just have an empty space in mine. Do I order these somewhere or what is it?

I used the brackets that came with the fog lights. But - I had to go to the hardware store and buy some hard plastic blocks to compensate for the spacing in order for the fog light to mount and aimed correctly. On my setup it was not a plug and play project. I had to modify the halogen lamp to HID and also had to drill new mounting points for where the fog lights would be installed. Take your time and you will do just fine...:D

I think Im going to try this! Ill keep you all posted and if I have any questions is it okay to PM you Al?

if your car is a 91-93 and has the 91-93 bumper on it your fogs should look like this. his is a 94/95 style bumper.

What kind of fogs are those?
Those are oem 91-93 fogs they are next to impossible to find but they do pop every now and then.
Does anyone here have AEM fogs on their '91?
Fogs came in the mail today..not the Mirco DEs. They were some "JDM" made in china I bought off ebay. Will show some pictures soon!
