Sounds like the heat shields around the cat. converter.

 

I had my heat shields cut off for the same reason and it shut her up.

 

are they just loose and need to be tightened? or is the only way to shut them up, to cut em off? Thanks again fellas

i have a similar ticking noise coming from my cat area, heat shields were removed, still ticking, i've narrowed it down to teh catilist dieing. i would have your cat checked out, its typical of a cat to tick when its starting to get all cloaged up and rusted inside, due to little pieces braking part inside.

 

If you weren't in a state that has inspections I would just say remove the Catalytic Converters. But where you are in MD I would say remove the heatshields first. If it's still making the sound then the cats need to be replaced.

 

A Catalytic converter with tourettes:

"Oh yeah push that gas harder, oh yeah....you motherfucker why you drowning me with fumes. Ahhh I'm breaking apart you asshole. Oh, yeah right there. Hey dickhead, suck on my tailpipe."

Whats good people, thanks to anyone with any help to me. ive checked the search and cant find anything that sounds the same. I have this funny sound that sounds like a rattling tinkling noise when i press the gas. it sound like it is coming from the transmission area. or somewhere under the car. this sound drives me crazy. It happens when im going slow then it will go away then come back when i stop and go again. Any help is appreciated.

i see ur from Md... If ur in Baltimore I'm in the city... We can further diagnose that exh rattle... we can cut/burn it off if that is the problem or replace cat...

The shield tends to rust away from the fasteners. Similar problem with the exhaust piping heat diffusers which use clamps which tend to rust out. Repair is replace, remove, or use stainless steel clamps.
