my dad asked me this question today.... while i was talking to him about all my upgrades i plan on doing (well over $15,000 worth!). here was my response:

"you know that chevy el camino you bougth new back in 1971 and still have? now, you know how youve spent over $20,000 into that car during the past 2 years? how the paint job alone was $6000?..... thats how long."

i walked away laughing, i honestly havent seen a reasonable car out there that id rather have besides a legend... well of course we can all dream of porsche's and ferraris.... but is there any other normal car that can replace the legend ?? personally i cant think of anything besides my legend (btw ive only had it for about 6 months and this is my stance on it) legends will never loose their styling and KILLER(!!) looks.

prob for another 2 years... then im ditching her for a used BMW 540 6sp or 2001 Audi s4. SOrry i have a craving for rwd or awd and euros. The legend was my first love but im gonna have to ditch her for a hotter girl...

i will probably keep it forever, however...

i won't driver it forever. once i get a real job, i will save up and buy a porsche 911. until i can save up to at least 50% of the total price for the porsche, i will still drive my legend. once i got my porsche, i will drive the porsche and still keep the legend as a family car, in case if i need to take more than 1 person.

Well, I know this isn't going to be a popular answer(please don't flame me).

I'm finally starting to invest some money in her and I want to keep her long enough to enjoy that investment.

My guess is I'll have her another few years in which time the 2001/2002 M3 will be with in my budget. Will I trade my legend in??? That wouldn't be my first choice but who knows what needs my future family may want.

dont know about the sedan (stock right now) but Jas aint going anywhere...remember, LEGENDZ4LIFE was my screenname.

I will prob get a few more cars, but the Jas will be my fun/show car.

I do not know what kind of car I want yet...actually, I want a 6 spd NSX as my other fun car. I will also be looking into a 911 turbo/300zx tt/Supra MKVI TT.

But Jas' goal is to get 300+ @ the wheels, Non-NOS. Can you say keeper? IN this case, probably keep the sedan as another family car, and my girl is getting a QX4 or LX470 next year....so lot of horses in the stable

Ok first off for those of you who will get rid of your Legend's, just out of good faith, if your not trading it in and just selling it out right you have to post it in the for sale section of this forum first before the you put it anywhere else.

As for me I was going to get rid of it about 4months ago for the 02' RL but just couldn't do it, we were approved and everything the sales person was about sighn us up and my wife happen overhear the manager putting dibs on our car and at that point we came to our sences and got out of there, besides the wife fell in love with the new 02'GMC Denali and so now since we just paid off the car we decided to keep it and get the Denali. So the Legend is really not going anywhere.

I get asked this a lot. And I say, "forever". Then people ask me "Well, what if something major goes wrong?" Here's my answer:

5 radiators, going on to my 3rd set of head gaskets, rebuilding my heads this summer and on my second tranny. I'm keeping my baby forever, period.
